someone forgot their backhoes…

…on my front lawn.

People often say they would love to see my house. Much like your own place might be, mine is very much a work in progress. The whole downstairs needs to be redone. The upstairs is on its way, but still needs new window treatments, lamps, and lighting fixtures, among other finishing touches. Here is a photo of my work in progress bedroom. You will notice the missing window treatments, and pillows that need to be fluffed, but I still love it. I think it is serene, yet colorful, it gets some great light. And all my books are right there!

What then, you might ask, is the day glow yellow peeping through the trees outside the window?

Backhoes! Two of them! That doesn’t really go with the whole serene thing, does it? I think they’ve been there for three weeks now, unmoved. Left there after some major street construction. Smack dab in front of my house. The very first thing I see when I wake up.

Perhaps it is symbolic of the status of my life, my house, my clients’ homes. Works in progress that sometimes get stuck…but still!! Don’t these things cost a lot of money? Doesn’t somebody need them somewhere for something else? Did they run out of room at the backhoe lot? What gives?!
